Karate training holds many benefits, especially the support of positive mental and physical health. Our classes are suitable for both children, young people and adults, irrespective of ability or previous experience. Our Karate training syllabus is designed to progressively develop technical skills (footwork, speed, evasion, strikes, punches, kicks, blocks and self-defence), fitness, coordination, strength, agility, self-esteem and resilience. FMA Karate Academy professional karate instructors know how to help both children and adults to develop at their own pace into a karate black belt.
Not everyone wants to compete, many students at FMA Karate Academy simply train for recreation, but if you do wish to compete (Kata and Kumite) we hold many internal club tournaments a year and we also compete at open tournaments around the country when they are available. .
When you join FMA Karate Academy you become part of a community martial arts school who are proud to serve the Wakefield area in service of the development of children and adults in Wado Ryu Karate.
